2009 Turnstone Fishing Outing
The Summit City Bass Masters 2009 Fishing Outing was for the third year held on the private pond at Concordia Theological Seminary, Ft. Wayne Indiana July 18th, 2009. The Summit City Bass Masters hosted adults and youngsters with disabilities, as well as their families for a morning of fishing followed by a cook-out. The disabled were from the Turnstone Center for Disabled Children and Adults. The club holds an event such as this each year as part of the club's commitment to the betterment of the Fort Wayne and Northeast Indiana community.
Thanks to Gary Sanderline for organizing the event and all the Summit City Bass Masters members who participated in this event for the club. Thanks also to club members' wives who were gracious with their help. A special thanks to Concordia Seminary for allowing us the use of their place for the event, and again this year our thanks to Jim Baileys Harley Davidson for allowing us the use of a large canopy to eat under.
Our thanks to Jim McArdle of the Bait and Hook Store for their donation of some of the bait for the event.
Our Thanks to News Channel 15 for sending a crew out to get the word out about a wonderful organization Turnstone is and from our perspective what a reward it is to spend the day people we've come to call friends.
The event was fun and enjoyed by all who attended. The fish this year were a little on the small side but the chance to wet a line with some friend old and new makes it all worth while.
The club raises money by hosting a
tournament early in the year called the Ice Breaker to buy the fishing equipment and provide the food.
Our Guests keep
the tackle so after this event is over, they may use it to go fishing often.
