Indiana Bass Federation 2008 State Finals
Miami
State Recreation Area, Mississinewa Lake, Bill Hovermale and Greg Rekeweg
are competing as boaters
in the 2008 state finals for one of 12 spots on the IBF / TBF Indiana state
team.
Saturday brought Blue Bird skies with no wind.
Greg commented that the lack of wind shut his pattern down. Greg weighed in two
fish for a total weight of 2.26 lbs.
Bill Hovermale just shook his head hoisting a single fish of 4.06 lbs.
As
of Saturday, 44 people weighed in fish. 1st place was the only limit weighed in
going 11.94 lbs on the scale. Big Bass was 4.74 lbs (that competitors
only fish).
The cutoff for 12th place was 4.14lbs. putting Bill just shy of the 12th place
mark. Most anglers I watched weighed in 1 or 2 fish, 2 to three pounds being the
norm...

Sunday September 21st 2008
Sundays report was more of the same. Our ace reporter Bob Bruick stated that it appeared many of the anglers that weighed in fish on Saturday blanked today and a few of those left empty handed after day one managed to bring a fish or two. Bob said the largest bag he saw weighed in was 3 fish. Bill Hovermale brought one more fish to the scales today. Greg Rekeweg out performed many finishing in the top 3rd but in the end fell short of the 5.46 lbs cut for 12th place.
