Summit City Bassmasters
Max Egley Makes State Team
Congratulations MAX!!!!
Summit City Bassmasters sent three of its members to the Indiana BASS Chapter Federation State Finals Tournament held on Patoka Lake July 13 and 14, 2002. These members were Max Egley, Bill Hovermale and Corey Linder. These three men were competitors at the Top 8 district tournament held on Lake Wawasee June 8 and 9, 2002. They placed high enough there to qualify for the state finals.
Only the top twelve people qualify for the state team from the State Finals Tournament. Max finished the torurnament in sixth place which put him solidly in place for the team. The state team will represent the state of Indiana in August of 2003 to be held on Georgian Bay off Lake Huron in Ontario, Canada.
Max's only keeper on Saturday was the third biggest bass of the day, at 4.34 pounds. Sunday Max caught a limit of five keeper bass weighing 10.06 pounds for a total of 14.40 pounds for the two days. Although the other two club members, Bill and Corey, weighed fish each day, they finished farther back in the middle of the field of more than 100 anglers competing in the torurnament.
On a side note: the picture above is of Max earlier this summer with fish weighed in at our club tournament on Lake St. Clair in June, 2002.
